Actor, Akin Olaiya’s wife, Nafisat, has explained why she left her marital home

Nafisat, wife of Nigerian Yoruba film actor Akin Olaiya, has explained why she left their marital home barely a month after their wedding.

Olaiya married Nafisat in July 2025, several years after his first marriage ended.

Rumors of the couple’s separation circulated online less than five months after the wedding.

Olaiya finally confirmed the separation in a dissolution statement released on June 22, 2026, saying his wife moved out of their marital home without any crisis and all efforts to bring her back proved abortive.

However, responding to the controversial statement in a video on social media, Nafisat, who previously accused Olaiya of harassing her, admitted that she left her marriage following the actor’s romantic relationship with her best friend.

“Can you imagine after abuse, pain and everything, that husband ends up marrying your best friend.

“So, what does that mean? It’s because I’m not the type of person who will tell my side of the story. I’m not used to it because in my own culture they don’t train us like that”, he said.
