Angelo Agbejoye set to replace Zadok Yohanna at Sweden’s AIK Stockholm

As frantic reports continue to spread about the imminent departure of Nigeria’s latest rave du jour, Zadok Yohanna of Sweden’s AIK Stockholm, a lad from Sagamu’s Grass Runners FC, Angelo Agbejoye has been tipped to replace him.

Sports247 reports that the lad, whose full name is Angelo Agbejoye Hountondji, previously had trials at England’s Manchester City and Germany’s Hannover 96, while also attracting interest from Denmark’s FC Copenhagen and Portugal’s Benfica.

With Zadok closing in on a deal with England’s Brighton & Hove Albion, attention has turned to Agbejoye as the most plausible guy to take his place at AIK.

Officials at the top-flight Swedish club have reportedly held productive talks with Grass Runners FC management, with a view to reaching a credible deal that would take Agbejoye to Stockholm this month.

Agbejoye, who primarily plays as a right winger and is in this year’s Nigerian under-20 national team, Flying Eagles, is being viewed by AIK as a very strong option under consideration to strengthen their attack ahead of next season.

“Talks are ongoing between the player’s representatives and AIK. The young Nigerian is one of several candidates under consideration, but is also attracting interest from other clubs, including FC Copenhagen and Benfica.

“Agbejoye wants to move to Europe this summer. Last year, he had trials with Hannover 96 and Manchester City, among others. Right now, he is preparing with the Nigeria U-20 national team for the AFCON qualifiers.”
