Arsenal: Myles Lewis-Skelly targets Kanu UCL semi-final record

Arsenal’s 19-year-old defender and midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly is one match away from equaling the Arsenal legend’s record with former Nigerian international striker Kanu Nwankwo, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Yesterday, Lewis-Skelly played a major role in helping Arsenal advance to the UEFA Champions League final, their third semi-final appearance in the tournament.

Last season he started both games of the loss against PSG in this instance, and yesterday he brought him one step closer to equaling Kanu’s record that he set in 1995 and 1996 respectively, while playing for Dutch side Ajax.

In the history of the UEFA Champions League only Iker Casillas and Nwankwo Kanu (both four) have started more Champions League semi-final matches as teenagers than the Arsenal youngster.

Considering that he will turn 20 at the end of this year, the chances of breaking the record do not exist.
