CEO Blessing has condemned critics who say God should have taken him instead of Alexx Ekubo

Media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as CEO of Blessing, has slammed social media users who wish him death following the death of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.

The actress and influencer expressed her anger over comments suggesting that God should take her life rather than Ekubo’s after news of the actor’s death sparked widespread reactions online.

Alexx Ekubo reportedly died on May 11 after battling advanced kidney cancer, a development that sparked numerous tributes from fans, colleagues and celebrities.

However, amidst the condolence messages, some social media users referred to CEO Blessing’s controversial cancer claims and argued that he should have died, not the late actor.

“How can you sympathize with the dead but oppress the living?” he said in the video. “Every time someone dies and I see how people suddenly sympathize, I am always shocked. If you read people’s comments when the person was alive, you will be shocked. Some people even say things like ‘God should have taken Blessing CEO and given us Alexx Ekubo.’ God will punish you all!”

He also defended Alexx Ekubo’s family’s decision to hide details of his illness from social media, arguing that Nigerians would still mock the actor if photos of him during his illness surfaced online. According to him, the people who are now mourning would have used his condition to mock him when he was still alive.
