EFCC arrested 78 alleged internet fraudsters in Abia, Kano, Nasarawa

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested 78 alleged internet fraudsters in the state of Abia, Kano, and Nasarawa.

The head of the EFCC media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, revealed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

He said the operators arrested 43 suspects in Toto, nasarawa state, on Friday,

According to him, their arrest follows the intelligence that can be followed up that connects them with cheating internet activities.

“The items recovered from them include five motorbikes, 64 cellphones, four laptop and iPad computers,” he said.

Oyewale added that the operators arrested 30 suspects in Ariam and Ubakala in the state of Abia on Thursday.

He registered items restored from them to enter four cars, one iPad, three laptop computers, one sound system, 42 cellphones of two cells, and one external hard drive.

“In the same tone, the operator of the Directorate of Zonal Kano Commission is the same as capturing five suspected cyber criminals in Kano.

“The suspects were arrested on Tuesday, during the stinging operation at the Farm Center, Kano, following intelligence that could be followed up on their alleged involvement in internet fraud and related financial crimes.

“The suspects were arrested beside their cellphones. All suspects will be charged in court in the conclusion of the investigation,” said the spokesman.
