Eid-ul-Adha: FG declares Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays

The federal government has declared Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays to allow Muslims to celebrate Eid-El-Kabir

This is according to a statement released on Monday in Abuja by the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani.

According to Ajani, the announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.

Tunji-Ojo said the holiday affirms the federal government’s respect for the faith and spiritual heritage of Muslims globally.

He urged all Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for Allah’s divine guidance in Nigeria, adding that the country continues to pursue peace, security and prosperity.

“Eid-ul-Adha is a festival with profound spiritual meaning, founded on the values ​​of sacrifice, obedience to God and compassion for one’s fellow man.

“I send the Federal Government’s warm congratulations to all Muslim faithful in Nigeria and the diaspora,” Tunji-Ojo said.
