Five people were electrocuted in the Gombe

At least five people were electrocuted in the Pantami Budun-Wadan community at the Gombe State on Saturday.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Buhari Abdullahi, said in a statement in Gombe that 13 other people suffered various levels of injury in the incident.

Abdullahi said the tragic incident was caused by a surge in power from a high -voltage electricity transformer in the community.

He said: “After receiving the report, officers from the low -cost Division Police Headquarters immediately visited the scene to secure the area and evacuate the victims to the hospital for medical treatment.

“Initial investigations revealed that the unfavorable incident claimed the lives of five people, while 13 others experienced various levels of injury.

“The injured victims are currently receiving medical attention in various health facilities within the state.

“The deceased has been stored in the following Modues: Three at the Federal Hospital (FTH) Gombe, one at the State Specialist Hospital, and one in the Kwwwwwww M MORKLO FILIN Bolari.”
