Investors get the N786 billion when the equity market starts this week by booming

Investors at the Nigerian equity market obtained the N786 billion at the close of Monday trading to start this week with booming.

This follows the soaring stock prices such as Axa Mansard Insurance, Seplat and Skye Shelter Fund PLC, among others, on the exchange floor.

The All-Share Index (ASI) reference index jumped to 144,822.77 points from 143,584.04 points recorded on the previous day.

After five hours of trading in the capital market, the capitalization of equity increased to N91.9 trillion from N91.1 trillion recorded by the exchange on Friday.

The extent of the positive market with 48 shares strengthened, 23 shares weakened, and 74 shares did not change in 35,490 transactions.

Axa Mansard Insurance, Seplat and Skye Shelter Fund PLC leads other profit winners with stock growth respectively 10%, 10% and 9.97% closed on N15.84, N5,917.20, and N381.10 from the previous N14.40, N5,379.30, and N346.55 per share.

International Energy Insurance, MC Nichols, and Thomas Wyatt PLC led other price declines with a decrease in stock prices of 8.42%, 8.31%, and 7.72%closed on N2.72, N3.20, and N2.99 per share, down from the previous N136.50, N3.58, and N7.95 per share.

On the volume index, Ellah Lakes PLC led trade with 80 million shares in 931 transactions, followed by PLC chams who trade 30 million shares in 466 transactions.

Sterling Bank PLC trades 24 million shares in 2,003 transactions.

In the value index, the Guaranty Trust Holding Co. PLC trades shares worth N1.9 billion in 1,430 transactions, followed by the Petroleum Development Co., which trades the equity of N1.6 billion in 107 transactions.

Aradel Holding PLC trades shares worth N1.2 billion in 843 transactions.
