Joint Operational Visit: Mnjtf, Ophk Theater Commander Review Lake Chad security operations

A declaration of the media information officer, the joint operation of the Task Force Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, said that the visit, held on Wednesday 20 August, was aimed at evaluating the operations in anti -terrorism in the waterways of Lake Chad and guaranteeing an optimal use of platforms and equipment deployed in the theater.

During the visit, the commanders received detailed briefing from the commander, 403 Amphibious Brigade, Brigadier General Emmanuel Agada and the commander, the naval base Lake Chad, the Commodore Peter Yilme, on measures adopted to protect the waterways, protect the economic activities and deny the freedom of action of terrorists.

In his observations, the commander of the force, Mnjtf, Mag Gen Mutkut, underlined the need for careful monitoring of the performance of the troops, an effective coordination and prolonged supervision, noting that the stability of the Lake Chad pelvis is in the collective interest of all members.

He stressed that the success of military operations in the lake basin was in the collective interest of all the countries on the border with the lake and urged the commanders to support vigilance and coordination.

For his part, the commander of the theater, Ophk, the major Gen Abubakar, praised the efforts of the troops and urged the commanders to maintain maximum vigilance, aggressive posture and professionalism in treating terrorist threats.

He also underlined the importance of providing safety coverage for agricultural and fishing activities, describing them as vital for the means of subsistence in the region of Lake Chad.

“Troops must demonstrate the highest level of commitment in the protection of waterways to improve agriculture and fishing, which remain criticism for the survival of local communities,” said the theater commander.

He also appointed commanders to give priority to the well -being of troops, strengthen communication channels and guarantee a judicious application of operational resources.

The joint visit was attended by Commanders of components and training, high officers of the MNJTF staff and the theater command of the headquarters, as well as by the commander 3 Ophk sector, the brigade general Suleiman Tilawan.
