Nwifuru has not influenced the suspension of my GM radio station – Sen. Ogba

Senator Obinna Ogba said that the governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi did not influence his decision to suspend the general manager of his radio station, Godfrey Chikwere.

Freedomonline reports that Chikwere was suspended from the Legacy frequency modulation station (FM) on August 9 for negatively criticizing the governor during the station talk show.

The suspension attracted the reactions of the public with a little defective his alleged call of the governor a weak leader while others considered that everything he said and written was in order.

Ogba, who represented the Senatorial District of the North Ebonyi at the National Assembly, gave Abakaliki this Monday while reacting to the insinuations that his relationship with the governor influenced the suspension.

The CEO (CEO) of the station told journalists that the suspension was an internal issue as Chikwere had not joined the station code of conduct.

“I felt it severely on non -adherence and I cannot bear it further.

“Chikwere, therefore, has to go to rest,” he said.

The former president of the Senate Committee for Sport, expressed a strong disapproval for public speculations that connect the suspension to the pressure of the government.

“I feel so bad to feel that the governor has directed the suspension as such is an insult about my personality.

“This is because I inaugurated the station before Nwifuru came into office,” he said.

Previously Chikwere had told our correspondent that he had never negatively criticized the governor Francis Nwifuru to attract the suspension from the station.

Chikwere, popularly called the child’s mouth in the social circle of Ebonyi, said he had done what a professional media personality should do.

“I have never had a hidden agenda or a personal interest, but I only communicated my opinion.

“I care about the governor’s interest and I think that was misunderstood,” he said.

He said his places could be verified to see that he had no personal interest or request in them.

The Programs Manager and the Administration of Legacy FM, Chukwuma Onde, condemned the suspension, noting that Chikwere has done nothing to guarantee such.

“Chikwere’s discussion with his guest analyst was constructive and deals with the alleged sale of official vehicles by the Governor’s names,” he said.
