Ooni of Ife and Queen Mariam welcome the twin princes to the royal house of Oduduwa

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his queen, Queen Mariam, have joyfully welcomed the twin princes into the royal house of Oduduwa, palace officials confirmed on Friday.

According to Moses Olafare, Director of Media and Public Affairs at Ooni’s Palace, both the mother and babies are in good health after the successful delivery. The arrival of the twins sparked widespread celebrations across Ile-Ife, with friends, well-wishers and dignitaries sending congratulatory messages to the royal family.

Oba Ogunwusi described the birth of the twins as a blessing to the royal family and the entire house of Oduduwa, expressing deep gratitude to the Almighty Olodumare for the safe delivery.

He also acknowledged the support of followers and associates who offered prayers, love and goodwill, calling the occasion a time of thanksgiving and community celebration.

The traditional ruler prayed that the newborn princes would grow up to embody wisdom, peace, health and greatness and serve as worthy ambassadors of Yoruba culture and the rich heritage of Ile-Ife.
