Police arrest 4 suspected cattle thieves in Katsina

Police agents in Katsina have arrested four suspected cattle thieves and recovered 18 stolen cattle at Tudun Iya Village in Funtua Local Government Area of ​​the state.

This was disclosed by the Spokesman of the State Police Command, Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu in a statement on Friday in Katsina.

He said the arrests were a follow-up to the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji m Disu, regarding intelligence-led policing and increased vigilance in vulnerable areas.

Sadiq-Aliyu said: On April 29 at around 11:30, police officers on patrol intercepted three suspects, and were found to be in possession of 18 cows which were suspected to have been grazed.

“During interrogation, the suspects failed to provide a credible explanation regarding the animals, and later confessed to the crime.

“The suspect revealed that the cow would be handed over for sale.

“Acting quickly on the information, police officers tracked down and arrested Adamu, 60, in connection with the offence, bringing the number of suspects arrested in the operation to four.”
