Sadiq Missing As Araujo’s Late Goal Earns Ba

Super Eagles striker, Umar Sadiq was missing in action as Barcelona pipped Real Madrid 1-0 in Saturday’s La Liga game.

The Nigerian international has made 10 appearances and bagged one assist in the ongoing season.

Sociedad were on top throughout as Barcelona offered embarrassingly little in attack, with the Catalan side instead spending plenty of time holding on in defence.

In July 2016, Sadiq was named in Nigeria’s final 18-man squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics. He appeared in all six of his team’s games and scored four goals in the process, including a brace in the third-place victory over Honduras.

After a two successful seasons at Partizan and a move to the rising Almería, Sadiq received a call to the Nigerian national team called up for the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin and Lesotho on 27 and 30 March 2021 respectively.
