Sankara and LOVOL come together to empower young Africans

In a bold step towards combating youth unemployment and advancing agricultural mechanization in Nigeria and across Africa, Sankara Nigeria Limited, in collaboration with LOVOL, has successfully launched an intensive training program aimed at equipping youth with modern mechanical and technical skills.

The initiative, which focuses on contemporary mechanized systems and maintenance of agricultural equipment, is designed to build a new generation of skilled technicians capable of leading Africa’s agricultural transformation.

The program provides hands-on training in modern mechanical practices, especially the operation, service and maintenance of advanced agricultural machinery, reports Blueprint.ng.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Nafiu Danladi Sankara described the opportunity as impactful and timely, stressing that the program represents a strategic investment in human capital development.

According to him, the collaboration between Sankara Nigeria Limited and LOVOL highlights a shared commitment to equipping young Africans with practical knowledge that promotes self-sufficiency and reduces dependency on white-collar work.

He emphasized that the training is not limited to Nigeria alone but extends to the whole of Africa, reflecting a broader vision of creating a continental network of competent technicians capable of supporting the growing demand for mechanized agricultural solutions.

“This initiative goes beyond simple training: it is about creating opportunities, restoring dignity to work and building a future in which young people can assert themselves through the skills they have acquired,” he said.

The technical workshop, which attracted participants from different parts of the region, was held in Kaduna State, more precisely in Zaria, at Unguwa Kaya Junction, New Jos Road, KM 2.

Program participants expressed appreciation for the quality of training and exposure to modern equipment, noting that such initiatives are key to closing the skills gap in the agricultural and mechanical sectors.

The program also received warm support from the host community of Zaria, located in the historic Emirate of Zazzau, where participants were welcomed with remarkable hospitality. Both organizers and trainees praised the people of Zaria for their generosity and encouraging welcome, which contributed to the overall success of the exercise.

As Nigeria continues to seek sustainable solutions to the challenges of unemployment and food security, initiatives such as this are a testament to the role of private sector collaboration in national development. By equipping youth with relevant and market-oriented skills, Sankara Nigeria Limited and LOVOL are not only transforming lives, but also laying a solid foundation for economic growth and agricultural modernization across the continent.
