Sporting Supreme FC makes history with Abuja Federation Cup club final

It was an all-Sporting Supreme FC final in the Abuja Federation Cup as the club achieved a remarkable feat in the 2026 FCT FA President Federation Cup, producing both finalists in a historic showdown in the competition.

Sporting Supreme’s U19 team faced the club’s Pro team in the final, ensuring that the trophy would remain in the Sporting Supreme family regardless of the result. The under-19 team ultimately emerged victorious, capping an extraordinary campaign for the Abuja-based club.

This achievement marks the first time in the history of the FCT FA President’s Cup that two teams from the same club have reached the final of the competition.

Beyond lifting the trophy, the result also means that both Sporting Supreme U19 and Sporting Supreme Pro will represent FCT in the National President Federation Cup, further underlining the club’s growing reputation in the development of grassroots and elite football.

The under-19 goalkeeper was instrumental during the round of 16, making crucial penalty saves that helped keep the youth team’s title hopes alive. On the other hand, the Pro team’s goalkeeper also had impressive performances in tense matches, saving important penalty shots that led his team to the final.

The club’s success is attributed to the technical team led by head coach Usman Bello, whose philosophy has helped create a fluid blend between youth development and competitive senior football.

The coaching team includes assistant coach Jude Eze and goalkeeping coach Ifeanyi, who played key roles in the club’s historic campaign.

As both teams head to the national stage, Sporting Supreme FC have sent a strong message to the Nigerian football community about the quality of talent emerging from FCT.

The historic inter-club final not only highlighted the depth within Sporting Supreme FC, but also reinforced the club’s status as one of the fastest growing football institutions in Nigerian grassroots football.
