Ajakaye made her bow in the 2024 Olympic women’s football event qualifier against Ethiopia on Wednesday.
The young forward came on in the second half of the encounter played at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa.

Opeyemi Ajakaye is one of the players drafted to replace the established ones that pulled out of the game.
The tie will be decided next week in Abuja, after the first leg ended 1-1 draw.
