The International Police Academy (IPA) has appointed the Deputy Commander General (DCG) Joseph Ogirima ICHA of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) as director of international training for narcotics.
According to the IPA Executive Board, the appointment of ICHA on an honorary basis is a recognition of his professional contributions to the sectors of the police, security and academic progress, as well as the global commitment shared in the fight against abuse and drug trafficking through the training, collaboration and exchange of knowledge.
The International Police Academy is a global respected institution based in the United States with presence in the United States, in Europe and over 140 countries, dedicated to providing advanced education and research opportunities for law enforcement agencies, military personnel and civilians.
“DCG Joseph Ogirima ICHA has been officially appointed director of the Honorary Academy Member of the International Police Academy (Ipoa) and of the Unipol International Police University in recognition of its distinct contribution to Dr. Execution, Dr. Alexander State.
DCG ICHA is director of the training and development of the workforce at the NDLEA National Headquarters in Abuja, where it was decisive to build the agency’s staff’s ability through cutting -edge training programs, international collaborations and reforms aligned with the best global practices.
In his message of congratulations to ICHA, the president/CEO of Ndlea, the Brigan Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (RTD) described the appointment as a clear testimony of the professionalism, commitment and international relevance of the NDLEA officers, in particular at a time when Nigeria is well recognized as an international level as a strategic partner in the global architecture of pharmacological control.
According to him, “This appointment is not only a personal result for ICHA, but a collective pride for the agency and in fact the country. This shows that the world is observing the reforms and progress made in Nigeria’s drugs, the police officers under the Reggina of hope.
Marwa urged him to see the position as an opportunity to further project Nigeria’s commitment to the best global practices in the drug police and use the platform to promote the development of skills for officials in other countries who have put themselves in difficulty with similar challenges.
