[Press Release] Governor Ademola Adeleke described the passage in the law of Osun’s electricity invoice as an important tool to deepen and enhance the economy of the state of Osun.

Reacting to the passage of the executive bill by the Chamber of the State Assembly, the Governor said that the bill will open windows of opportunities for investors in the power sector with many opportunities for offGrid generation.

According to the governor Adeleke, the sources of energy generation will be diversified, open and regulated to face what has called the chronic power supply crisis of the power supply that makes the state oscillate.

The new law according to the Governor provides for the establishment of the state electricity regulatory agency to regulate and monitor the electricity market, as well as participate in the issues of disbursement of the service by the distribution company.

He underlined that the Commission will be authorized to face the complaints of electricity users and act on the activities of the distribution company, warning that the disco should be close now before the possible take -off of the Commission.

“The regulatory commission will address critical issues relating to customer complaints – service providers. It will grant licenses to power generators among others. The Commission will not allow current abuse of electricity users in the state.

“I will invite all the parties interested in the signing of the law. The entrepreneurial community in the state of Osun should raise a sigh of relief. The much necessary political framework for the state power sector has arrived

The Governor praised the Chamber of the Assembly, the Ministry of Energy of State and all those who worked on the legal project and participated in the consultation processes that led to the passage by the state assembly.
