Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) states that his meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) will hold on Tuesday (today) as scheduled.
The national president of the party acting, Umar Damagum, declared this while he was addressed to journalists after the extraordinary meeting of the Caucus of the PDP that was held on Tuesday in Abuja.
“We have just finished the extraordinary meeting of Caucus. We are moving to Legacy House for our NEC meeting.
“I think it will be corrected for us to face you immediately after finishing the NEC meeting,” said Damagum.
Freedomonline reports that the 99th NEC meeting was scheduled for 14:00 at the party’s presidential campaign office, Legacy House, in the District of Maitama of Abuja.
Freedomonline also reports that the meeting had previously been set for the national party secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
However, it was changed to Legacy House, following the closure of the National Secretariat by the Federal Capital Territory Administration due to 28 years of great unpaid rent.
Freedomonline reports that at the time of drafting this relationship, NEC members had started to arrive at the meeting headquarters that would have to face critical issues that affect the party, including strategies for the next political commitments.
The NEC, one of the highest decision -making bodies of the PDP, includes the National President and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
State governors, the service and former presidents, former vice -presidents, president and secretary of the Foundation Council (Bot), the main officials of the National Assembly, President of State, former governors and founding members, among others, are also members of the NEC.
At the extraordinary meeting of the Caucus held at the Loggia of the Governor Bauchi was the president of the forum of the Governors of the PDP, Senator Bala Mohammed of the State of Bauchi, the governors Ademola Adeleke of Osun, Seyi Makinde of Oyo.
Others were the president of the bot, the senator Adolphus Wabara, the secretary at the bot, Ahmed Makarfi, a former president of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki and a member of the bot, Capo Bode George.
Emmanuel Ogidi, former national president, UCC Secondus, president of the PDP South-South Catetaker Committee, Emmanuel Ogidi, members of the NWC and some former governors.
