Trader stabbed to death during dawn attack

A trader, Alhaji Mustapha Musa, was allegedly stabbed to death by suspected thieves who attacked his residence behind the Niger Motel in Suleja, Niger State.

A police report made available on Monday indicated that the incident was reported to Suleja A Division.

According to the report, the attackers broke into the victim’s house at around 3am on Sunday, stabbed him to death and took away his mobile phones and motorcycle.

Police officials visited the scene and evacuated the body to Suleja General Hospital.

The deceased was a trader at Babangida Modern Market, Suleja.

He leaves behind three wives and 11 children.

Amina Mohammed, the deceased’s first wife, said she heard her husband screaming until she could no longer hear his voice.

The second wife, in whose room the incident allegedly occurred, was hospitalized following the attack.

Jamila Usman, sister of one of the wives, said three men entered the house, although she could not confirm whether there were others outside the gate.

According to her, the victim offered to give them money, but they refused, cut open his stomach and killed him.

“They didn’t leave until they confirmed he was dead. They took his two phones, the phone of one of the wives, his ATM card and the motorcycle,” he said.

Police said investigations into the case are underway to nab the attackers and bring them to justice.
