Victor Osimhen’s double gives Galatasaray the Turkish league title

Victor Osimhen delivered when it mattered most on Saturday night, scoring twice as Galatasaray came from behind to beat Antalyaspor 4-2 and clinch the 2025/26 Turkish Super Lig title with one match left.

The Nigerian striker was instrumental in a tense title encounter at RAMS Park, helping Galatasaray to their fourth consecutive league crown after a spectacular comeback in front of their home fans.

Antalyaspor shocked the league leaders late in the first half after Soner Dikmen found the breakthrough to put the visitors ahead. Galatasaray responded strongly after the restart through Mario Lemina, but the visitors regained the lead shortly after when Dikmen scored his second goal of the match to silence the home fans once again.

With the pressure mounting and the title race threatening to go down to the final day, Osimhen stepped up to inspire change. The Super Eagles striker calmly converted a 66th-minute penalty to draw Galatasaray level before completing the late-match comeback with a composed finish inside the box that had the stadium celebrating.

A late goal from Kaan Ayhan finally sealed the victory and Galatasaray confirmed another league win in spectacular fashion.

Osimhen’s performance once again highlighted his importance to the Turkish giants this season, with the striker consistently producing decisive moments in crucial matches. Beyond his goals, his movement, physical presence and ability to influence big games have made him one of the most important players in Galatasaray’s title-winning campaign.

The Nigerian international has registered 15 league goals and five assists this season despite missing part of the campaign through injury and suspension. His contributions have been instrumental in Galatasaray’s successful title defense and their continued dominance in Turkish football.

However, Osimhen will miss Galatasaray’s final league match of the season after receiving a suspension, bringing an early end to what has been another influential campaign for the Super Eagles star.
