Wike Deals PDP Fresh Blow, mobilizing FCT support for APC ahead of 2026 Polling Council

In what the analysts call seismic changes in political landscapes, Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike has openly campaigned for all progressive congress (APC) ahead of the February 2026 Regional Council election, calling on the population of Tunga Madaki and the surrounding community to give prizes to the ruling party in ballots.

WIKE-A key tribal chief from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the former Governor of the State Rivers who were stunned by political observers by supporting the Chairman of the Abuja City Regional Council (AMAC), Christopher Maikaliange, who recently defected from PDP to APC and was looking for a re-election for the second term of office.

Speaking on the 7 kilometer road project flag with a four -range bridge connecting Tunga Madaki with eight other settlements, Wike binds the project directly with the new agenda of the hope of the Tinubu Bola Bola and said that the development was evidence that APC gave the results where the past government failed.

“It is not fair that people surrender their ancestral land to national projects such as the second runway, but do not have access, even to the airport they give to the land. I bring this problem to Mr. President, and he said, ‘Whatever they ask, give them.’ Today, we are here to fulfill that promise, “said Wike, pulling applause from residents.

He announced that the project, which was executed by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), will be completed and assigned in June 2026, aligning with Tinubu’s third anniversary in the office – a step that many people see as a timely political statement before the 2027 General Election.

Wike goes further to directly call the residents to pay back APC on the poll: “One good turn deserves another. When you do it for me, I do for you. When you fall in love with me, I fall in love with you. When you listen to me, I listen to you.”

Political observers said Wike’s statement was the same as the open declaration of political war on the previous party, PDP, who had struggled to survive at the FCT.

Wike also praised Maikalanu for being “an advocate who was tireless” for his people and urged the voters to vote again so that the coming Jalan Jalan June would be “a shared celebration.”

“You have the previous council chairman – Did anyone remember Madaki? Did they connect you to the airport whose land you gave? Ask where they are when your path cannot be passed.

“Remember the man who remembers you during the rainy season. This is the time to stand with a party that brings development to your door,” Wike demanded.

With the challenging attitude of Wike and his harmony that is increasing with the APC political agenda, analysts warn that PDP can face a shameful defeat in the 2026 Council election – has the potential to set a stage for a stronger APC performance in the 2027 presidential election.
