The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) national screening committee has screened and confirmed Peter Obi as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the upcoming primaries.
Obi arrived at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja at about 6.45pm on Tuesday, accompanied by Victor Umeh, the senator representing Anambra central.
The screening, which lasted about two and a half hours, was attended only by the former Governor of Anambra State.

Speaking after the exercise, Obi, the committee “carefully reviewed all my documents, including my degree certificate, NYSC credentials and age statement.
“During the process, I also answered questions regarding my vision for the new Nigeria and the type of leadership our country desperately needs at this time. After that, I was approved and received the presidential nomination form that I had previously paid for.”
