CP Shetima launches the state repression on criminal hiding places
… invites hoteliers to join the fight against culturalism
As part of the renewed efforts to eliminate cultural and organize criminal activities in the state of Nasarawa, the police commissioner, the CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has issued a directive for an aggressive repression on all known and suspicious criminal hiding places throughout the state.
This decisive move follows the credible intelligence that suggests plans of groups of worship to celebrate on 7 July (7/7) with coordinated criminal activities in various parts of the country, including the state of Nasarawa.
In a strategic commitment with hotel owners and managers from all 13 areas of the local government, held today at the headquarters of the police command in Lafia, Cp Shetima urged the hoteliers to be vigilant and not allow their premises to be used as safe paradises or meeting points for cultists and other criminal elements.
“You are our secure partners. Like the eyes and ears of the community, we urge you to be alert and immediately reported any meetings or suspicious reservations. If you see something, say something,” said the CP.

The hoteliers, in response, praised the initiative and promised full collaboration with the police and other security agencies in curbing the crime and safeguarding peace throughout the state.
After the meeting, CP Shetima ordered intensive forays based on intelligence on all suspected cultural enclaves and criminal hiding places throughout the state of Nasarawa. He also appointed all the officers involved in the operation to act with professionalism, respecting the fundamental human rights of all citizens while downloading their duties.
