Protest Stage of APC Member Lagos APC which is disadvantaged, Transferring Request of the State Chair (Video)

The disadvantaged member of the Decision of All Progressives Congress (APC) in all 57 regional government regions and regional development of the Local Council in Lagos State on Monday, protested throughout the state which demanded the transfer of the Chairman of the State Party, Father Cornelius Ojelabi, on the charges of manipulation and meddlesomeneness in the affairs of the council.

The protesters who invaded the Complex of the State Council of the State Council brought various plaques and chanting solidarity songs, also demanded the resignation of a member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke, which they were accused of carrying out poor leadership and manipulating party processes.

A demonstrators who spoke to reporters, urged the President of Bola Tinubu, Governor of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other APC leaders to intervene in this issue, warning that such unresolved complaints could deepen the internal party division and threaten the prospect of APC in 2027 general elections in Lago.

Another protest who gave his name as an old Talibu from Onigbongbo LCDA, said that even though they were loyal parties, they were not happy with the way the party was carried out that could influence their opportunities in the 2027 election.

“We are a faithful APC member, but we are not happy with the situation.

“Leadership at the state level does not go well. If this continues, it will affect our opportunities in the next election in the state of Lagos.”

He added that in the new selection of councils, there were many coercions in the process that led to the emergence of leadership candidates in the last preliminary election.

“Candidates are imposed on party members for their popular desires by our leaders in Lagos.

“There is a step to force candidates in the appointment of the council executive to the newly sworn chairman. We will reject this step.”

When reacting to protests in interaction with journalists, party spokesman in the state, Seye Oladejo, said the party had recorded complaints of protesters and convinced that the rules would be followed.

“Our attention has been withdrawn to the protest reported at the State Council of the Lagos Assembly concerning the Constitution of the Regional Government Cabinet.

“We want to recognize, recognize, and respect the rights of stakeholders and party members to express complaints democratically.

“Peaceful protest is a legitimate feature of civilian involvement, and we praise those who have done themselves calmly and orderly.

“We want to ensure that the election of cabinet members for 20 local government councils and 37 in the development of local councils will follow the rules set and internal party guidelines, and propositions by party local leadership after appropriate consultation.

“Please note that the party at the state level only plays the role of advisors. The party strongly denies the allegation of imposing nominations on any local government.

“We want to advise members who are interested in approaching their local leadership, who are guardians of power to nominate.

“We remain committed to constructive dialogue to review concerns and disputes to ensure fair results in accordance with party values.

“We ask for constructive participation and ask for protesters to channel their concerns through official party organs. Our structure is precise to overcome differences of opinion, evaluate claims, and foster unity.

“APC remains confident in its capacity to solve internal problems without external escalation. Our main goal is stability in both parties and state governance structures.

“We trust our leadership at various levels to follow the guidelines and try to be fair for everyone.

“We urge the patience and understanding of the protesters to achieve the desired goals,” he said.
