Coach Yusuf Salihu takes over ABS Illorin FC before the 2025/2026 season

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC has officially presented coach Yusuf Salihu as the new club chief coach before the 2025/2026 season of the Nigeria National League (NNL).

The presentation ceremony took place today at the Taiwo Awoniyi Media Sports Center, Kwara Swan Secretariat, George Innih Stadium, Ilorin.

Speaking at the event, coach Salihu expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and described his vision for the club:

“Soccer is teamwork, and that is why it is still a collective game, I cannot do it alone. With the unity, commitment and support of management and interested parties, we will succeed.

My vision is to build a vibrant, formidable and disciplined team that can compete with any club in Nigeria and beyond, win laurels and bring FC ABS to greater heights. ”

Also speaking in the presentation, ABS soccer director Alloy Chukwueka, stressed the importance of encouraging local coaches. He was inspired by the recent triumph of coach Tunde Sani in the President’s Federation Cup with Kwara United, pointing out that it was the given opportunity that raided the way for his success.

The club’s management expressed its confidence in Salihu’s ability to take the team to a new era of growth and success, while urging fans and interested parties to meet behind the coach and players while preparing for the next season.

ABS ILORIN FC, founded to nurture young talent and promote the development of football, continue their tradition of preparing quality players who can have a locally and internationally impact online with the vision of the owners Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

With the appointment of coach Salihu, the club is ready for an exciting campaign in the 2025/2026 NNL season.
