The armed men suspected of being the insurgents of Lakurawa killed the head of the village of Sayinna in the area of the local government of Tangaza in the state of Sokoto.
Witnesses said that the attackers invaded the community around 1: 30 on Thursday, shooting indiscriminately before killing the traditional sovereign, Malam Murtala Sa’Adu and his neighbor.
According to reports, both men were members of groups of local vigilants who resisted the bandits in the area.
Safety sources reported that the troops of the Fansan Yanma operation arrived shortly after the attack, evacuated the bodies in the hospital and started the patrols to prevent further aggressions.
The residents believed that the murders were retaliation for the support of the victims to the supervisory activities, that the insurgents of Lakurawa had repeatedly banned in the communities under their control.

Confirming the accident, special councilor of the president of the local council of Tangaza, Alhaji Garzali Riccoh, described Malam Sa’Adu as “a committed and laborious leader who was stopped for peace and stability in his domain”.
The attack is the last of a wave of violent raids of armed men of Lakurawa throughout the state of Sokoto. (The Guardian)
