The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested one Iziga Ikechukwu, popularly known as “Easy Money,” for alleged misuse of naira notes during his birthday celebrations.
The Commission revealed this in a statement posted on X on Thursday.
According to the EFCC, the 24-year-old palm kernel trader was arrested by agents attached to the Enugu Zonal Directorate following actionable intelligence from a video circulating on social media.
The commission said the suspect filmed himself misusing naira notes in his hotel room during a birthday celebration, an offense contrary to Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.

“Initial investigations were conducted after intelligence information was received, leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
” He was arrested on February 28 at his residence around Timber Market in Enugu‑Ezike, Enugu State.
“The sum of N81,700 which was allegedly part of the money he allegedly mutilated, was recovered during the arrest.
“The suspect will be charged to court once the investigation is complete,” the statement said.
