Imo State Football Association President, Barr. Ifeanyi Dike, has congratulated former Nigerian international Chikelue Iloenyesi on his re-election as president of the Anambra State Football Association, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his commitment to football development and administration.
In a congratulatory message released on Thursday, Dike said Iloenyesi’s return to office reflects the confidence football stakeholders in Anambra State have in his leadership. He added that the election result highlights the importance of visionary leadership, dedication and consistency in football administration.
Whoever wears the cap, they say, must wear it. The hat fits you perfectly. Your re-election is a testimony to the confidence the football family in Anambra State has in your leadership and your ability to continue the good work you have started,” Dike said.
The Imo FA President noted that Iloenyesi, popularly known as “The General”, has distinguished himself both as a former national team player and football administrator.
He expressed confidence that the renewed mandate will strengthen grassroots football development and create more opportunities for young talents across Anambra State.
Dike also called for greater collaboration between football associations in the South East, stressing that greater regional cooperation would significantly contribute to the growth of Nigerian football. He congratulated Iloenyesi on behalf of the board of directors and football family of the Imo State Football Association and wished him a successful tenure.
Iloenyesi’s re-election continued to attract messages of goodwill from football administrators and stakeholders across the country, with many describing his return as a positive step for the development of football in Anambra State and the South East Region.
