Aiyedatiwa, Tunji-Ojo, Mimiko, Adelami and others for Aremolekun’s comeback musical concert

A host of eminent personalities from political, traditional, religious and entertainment circles are expected to converge on Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Friday for the highly anticipated comeback musical concert of Aremolekun, organized by the Pillar of Bethel Angelic Voices (POBAV).

Among the dignitaries expected at the event are the Governor of Ondo State, the Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who is the special guest of honour; the Minister of the Interior, the Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; the Minister of Youth Development, the Hon. Ayodele Olawande; former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, who will serve as Father of the Day; and the member representing Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abiola Makinde, who will preside over the occasion as President of the Day.

Other notable guests expected include the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami; the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji; the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Hon. Amidu Takuro; the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, the Hon. Idowu Ajanaku; Chairman of Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Hon. Biyi Poroye; Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan, Ondo State Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors; Chief Akindele Akin Omole (BOBASELU); Engr Ade Adetimehin, former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State; Chief and Pastor (Mrs.) Adetunji Adeleye, Commander, Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps); and Dr. Eddy Olafeso, former Commissioner for Information, Ondo State.

Traditional rulers expected at the concert include the Olumafon of Imafon, Oba Samuel Adegbehingbe Aliu (Atonlusi I) and the Olumoru of Imoru Kingdom, Oba Oluwarotimi Obamuwagun, who will serve as the Royal Fathers of the era.

The spiritual father of the day is Primate (Dr) Ade Ademisokun-Turton Onibode, founder of Success Gate Cherubim and Seraphim Christ’s Church International and president of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, Ondo State Chapter.

Organizers have also lined up an impressive lineup of gospel ministers who will minister through song and exhortation. They include Prophet/Bishop Samuel Babatunde Sotitobire, Evang. Funmi Aragbaiye (Mama Sioni), Evang. Akin Adebayo, (Imole Ayo), Evang. Elijah Akintunde (voice of Elijah), Evang. Toluwalase Adelegan and Evang. Olu-Wale Aniyikaye.

The event will also feature special performances by invited church choirs, who will minister in three batches, while selected artistes of the Association of Gospel Musicians of Nigeria (GOMAN) will add color to the occasion with soul-lifting gospel renditions.

The concert, themed “My Prophet, My King (Woli Mi, Oba Mi)”, with biblical text from 2 Chronicles 8.20pm, will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, starting at 12pm, at the Motailatu Church of God, Oke-Idahun Parish, Mount Aremolekun, Kilometer 3, Imafon/Igbatoro Road, Akure.

The host ministry, Pillar of Bethel Angelic Voices (POBAV), was founded in 1997 by the Very Reverend David Akinadewo-Adekahunsi, popularly known as Aremolekun.

Over the past 30 years, the ministry has established itself as one of the leading gospel music groups in Ondo State, using music as a platform for evangelism, worship and moral transformation.

POBAV has released around 11 gospel music albums, including Gbami Mo De, Kowee, God is Spirit, On the Altar, Aremolekun, Orin Imole, Kosolododo, Gbe Motailatu S’oke and the acclaimed Ogo Orimolade, a centenary album produced for the Church of Cherubim and Seraphim worldwide, featuring eight other leading gospel artists.

Organizers said the homecoming concert is intended to celebrate God’s faithfulness over three decades of ministry, while providing believers a platform to worship together and experience spiritual renewal through gospel music.

According to the planning committee chairman, Hakeem Gbadamosi, the program features three special addresses by the host choir, Pillar of Bethel Angelic Voices, together with the six guest ministers, performances by invited church choirs and GOMAN artists, as well as goodwill messages from distinguished guests.

Organizers have appealed to individuals, corporate organizations and public-spirited Nigerians to partner with the ministry through sponsorships and other forms of support to ensure the success of what promises to be one of the biggest gospel music events in Ondo State this year.
