The younger brother of the 2027 Bauchi South senatorial candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, Shehu Aliyu Musa, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Musa, has lost three of his children to floods in Abuja.
The victims, identified as Maryam, Umar and Hanifah, were overwhelmed by floodwaters in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the party, the tragedy occurred four days before its statement was released, with Umar’s body later recovered while Maryam and Hanifah’s bodies were reported missing since October 4.
The incident has left the family in mourning, with condolences pouring in from the Bauchi State Government and the PRP chapter in the state.
Bauchi governor mourns family
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, expressed his condolences to Abubakar and the entire family on the loss.
The governor described the incident as devastating and painful, saying the loss of three children under such circumstances was a tragedy difficult to understand.
In a condolence message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, Mohammed expressed his condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of his family, the state government and the people of Bauchi State.
The governor said words were inadequate to fully express the pain of the loss and prayed that Allah grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength, patience and courage for the family to endure the tragedy, assuring them that the government and people of Bauchi State stood in solidarity with them during the difficult period.
The PRP stands in solidarity with the candidate’s family
The Bauchi State chapter of the People’s Redemption Party also expressed its condolences to Shehu Aliyu Musa, his younger brother Abubakar and the entire family.
The group expressed sadness at the loss of the three children and prayed for their eternal rest.
The PRP also prayed that Allah would give the grieving family strength to cope with the loss as they continue to wait for the recovery of the two missing bodies.
Shehu Aliyu Musa is the PRP candidate for Bauchi South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.
