Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has pledged to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, saying the president needs another four years to consolidate his administration’s economic reforms.
Adeleke made the pledge on Wednesday while speaking at the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House, Abuja.
“We must give time to our father, the president of this nation, for his reform to work. It is not easy.
“Four years is not enough, that’s why I’m here to assert myself.”
The governor, who recently secured re-election on the platform of the Accord Party, expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances of winning a second term, saying momentum was already building ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.
“No one can stop this movement,” he told the rally. “We will sing; we will dance to Aso Rock,” Adeleke said.
He urged political leaders and supporters to prioritize action over speech, saying preparations for the campaign have already begun.
“We don’t have time. The work has begun. I’ve already started mine.”
“Let’s stand up and make sure our president comes back for the second time,” he said.
Adeleke also urged Nigerians to continue praying for the president and other leaders, stressing that the country’s progress depends on their success.
“Continue to pray for Mr. President. If he succeeds, we will all succeed. And I know, by the special grace of God, we will get there,” he said.
Adeleke was named as Tinubu’s campaign coordinator in Osun State in a revised electoral council list released on Tuesday.
The list also names FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as Coordinator for Rivers and the FCT, alongside Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
At the inauguration, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda described the meeting as a “rainbow coalition” of different political parties working together.
The APC is expected to end its presidential campaign in Kaduna on October 24.
