Victor Osimhen is delighted with his nomination for the 2022 men’s Ballon d’Or.
The Napoli striker made the 30-man shortlist announced by the organisers of the award, France Football Magazine on Wednesday.
Osimhen earned his nomination on the back of his impressive performance for Napoli in the 2022/23 season.
The 24-year-old said the award is big honour for him and his family.

“I must say it is a dream come true for me. It is a big honour for me and my family,” Osimhen told reporters in Uyo.
“I have worked so hard for a moment like this and I must say it is a reward for all the years of hard work and dedication.
“This can only spur me to do better and get more recognition.”
The striker scored 26 goals to help Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years last season.
He also contributed five more goals in the UEFA Champions League.
