Akeem Amosun rallies APC members for Salisu ahead of Ogun Central Senatorial Primaries

The Federal Commissioner representing Ogun State at the Fiscal and Revenue Mobilization Allocation Commission, Akeem Amosun, on Sunday intensified mobilization for the senatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun Central, urging party members to support Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu.

Amosun, who addressed party faithful at his residence, AK City, Abeokuta, called on APC members across the senatorial district to demonstrate en masse and vote for Salisu in Monday’s primaries.

Speaking before a large gathering of supporters, including youth and women groups, the APC chief stressed the need for unity and discipline within the party, describing the primaries as a test of the party’s cohesion ahead of the general elections.

He said the level of support shown earlier for another party figure needs to be replicated to ensure Salisu’s emergence as the party’s candidate.

Amosun said: “The same commitment and loyalty demonstrated by our members in previous sponsorships must be maintained. We must remain united and committed to the progress of our great party by ensuring the victory of Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu.”

He described Salisu as an experienced and loyal member of the party capable of providing effective representation for Ogun Central in the National Assembly.

The commissioner also warned party members against acts that could disrupt the electoral process, urging them to behave peacefully during the exercise.

“Our focus must remain on the success and continuity of the APC. These primaries are an opportunity to demonstrate our political maturity and commitment to progressive ideals,” he added.

Supporters present at the meeting expressed confidence in Salisu’s candidacy, pledging to mobilize votes across the district to ensure his participation in the primaries.

The APC senatorial primaries for Ogun Central are scheduled for Monday, with stakeholders closely monitoring the outcome amid ongoing political alignments within the party.
