The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Dr Tony Eghagagara, Head of Medical Services at New Bussa General Hospital in Borgu Local Government Area (LGA).
The command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident in a statement released in Minna on Friday.
Abiodun said Eghagagara was kidnapped on Wednesday around 9.30pm by suspected bandits from his private hospital in Wawa, also in Borgu LGA.
He said a police tactical team had been mobilized for the rescue operation.
He promised that further developments will be communicated to the public in due course.
