Laboratory analysts have expressed concern over the current cholera epidemic affecting Lagos and Ogun states, urging the government to take immediate action to protect public health by sending public analysts to conduct comprehensive water quality tests in the affected areas .

Laboratory analysts under the auspices of the Society of Testing Laboratory Analysts of Nigeria (SoTLAN) have attributed deaths due to the epidemic to inadequate public awareness of remote and immediate causes, as well as preventive measures, highlighting the critical need for action immediately to safeguard public health.
