Humanitarian minister Yilwatda emerges president of the APC

Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, was elected national president of the ALL PROGRESSIVE Congress (APC).

His emergency was formally announced on Thursday during the meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the APC at the State House, Abuja.

Yilwatda, who was adopted as a “consent decision” by NEC, happens to Abdullahi Ganduje who officially resigned as president on June 27th.

The meeting was present the President Bola Tinubu, members of the forum of the Governors of Progressives and high officials of the party

Freedomonline reports that born on August 8, 1968, Yilwatda, which is of Plateau, is an engineer and academic.

It was the APC flagrunner in the 2023 government elections in the plateau.

In July 2017 – December 2021, he held the position of electoral commissioner residing in Benue’s state.

In addition, he was ICT director at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, for 12 years.
