Ittf Word Parade Future Tourney: NSC applauds the success of the Nigeria team in Giordan
The National Sports Commission (NSC) praised the exceptional performance of the Nigeria team in the ITTF Paraneo tournament recently concluded in Amman, Jordan, where the nation showed its domain in the ping of Paradisi, ending up among the first three teams globally.
During the three -day championship, Nigeria accumulated a considerable range of five gold medals, seven silver and two in bronze. By competing against the plants such as Germany, Iran and host nation Jordan, Nigeria, was as high as one of the only three African nations present, together with Egypt and South Africa.
The president of the NSC, Mallam Shehu Dikko described the result as “testimony of what is possible when vision meets preparation and belief”. He added: “Our para-athletes have continued to inspire the entire nation. Their performance in Jordan shows that with the right support, Nigerian sports can climb on any global phase”.
General manager of the NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade, praised the resilience and splendor of the athletes, as well as the technical team and the leadership of the Nigeria Paralympic Committee (PCN). “This is a proud moment for Nigeria,” said Olopade.
“I have to praise the dedication of the team, in particular the leadership of the President of the Pcn Sunday Odebode, which has remained engaged in excellence and inclusion in Nigerian sports.”
Olufemi Alabi won the first gold of the country in the men’s singles of class 10, beating Shafeeq Hikmat in Iraq.
Faith Obazuaye has conquered gold in the women’s 9-10 class.
Bolawa AkingbeMisilu gained gold in the men’s 4-5 class, defeating his compatriot Kehinde Lawal.
ABIOLA Adhesope and Tajudeen Agunbiade captured gold in the male double classes 14-18.
Alabi and Obazuaye closed the Nigeria campaign with style by taking gold in the double mixed classes 17-18.
