Login to bank silently as customer claims ₦3 million has disappeared from savings account

Nigeria’s leading commercial bank, Access Bank, has remained mum on the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a customer’s deposits amounting to millions of naira.

Platform Times reports that, over the past two days, a viral video has surfaced online showing a lady, whose identity has not been revealed, claiming to be an Access Bank customer.

The lady, in the viral video, shouted that her deposits at Access Bank had been withdrawn under strange circumstances.

According to her, her deposits at Access Bank had been suspiciously withdrawn from October 2025 until her balance dropped from about N3 million to zero.

She further said that she repeatedly visited Access Bank with her complaint but was told that the matter was under investigation.

“I came to Access Bank, I can’t find my money. They told me it is under investigation. I came again today, they told me they have contacted their office. I really need help because I can’t do it alone. Since October 2025, they have been withdrawing money from my account. They took everything; not even N200 left in my account. I trusted Access Bank so much, but they took my money,” she said in the viral video.

When contacted by Access Holdings Plc’s Head of Media and Public Relations, Olakunle Aderinokun, on Thursday afternoon, he was yet to respond to a query on the matter.

Platform Times reports that Access Bank had not yet released any official statement on the matter at the time of reporting.

Claims are circulating that the customer’s Subscriber Identity Module, SIM, has been linked to another person’s account after a period of inactivity.

Reacting to the matter, the President of Bank Customers Association of Nigeria said Access Bank owes its customers full transparency on what happened to their deposits.

According to him, the customer in question should immediately raise the matter with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, if his allegations are true.

“The bank, under any circumstances, owes its customers full transparency. I advise you to approach the Central Bank of Nigeria if you are telling the truth,” he said.
