Nigeria Has Passed Reform Phase, Second Coming of Tinubu Will Bring Prosperity: Beta Edu

The Director of Mobilization, Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Beta Edu, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term will focus on prosperity, following what he described as the completion of the reform phase of his administration.

Edu spoke in Kaduna on Thursday when he led members of the CCP mobilization team on a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, who chairs the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the President’s visit to the state.

“We have already gone through the reform phase. Now is the time for prosperity,” Edu said, expressing confidence that Nigerians will support Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.

He said the mobilization team was working to secure 40 million votes for Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, underlining the need to engage women at the grassroots level rather than relying solely on participation in campaign rallies.

“Our plan as the CCP’s mobilization directorate is to see that we can mobilize at least about 40 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And we cannot do that without going down to the grassroots,” he said.

Edu said the campaign will engage women to understand their challenges and develop strategies to reach them through door-to-door campaigns, markets and communities.

She urged women leaders in Kaduna to mobilize support peacefully and without intimidation, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver votes for the president.

“We want to engage with women. We want to find out what their challenges are. We want to find out the best way to reach the grassroots,” she said.

Edu also commended the Kaduna State Government under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, citing road construction, improvement of public transport and revitalization of primary healthcare as areas where he said the state has made progress.

He particularly commended Dr Balarabe for becoming the first Deputy Governor elected in North West Nigeria, describing her achievement as a turning point for women’s participation in elective politics in the region.

In her response, Dr. Balarabe said the state government and the LOC were taking seriously the responsibility of hosting the President’s visit, adding that preparations were underway through a series of meetings.

He urged members of the CCP mobilization team to contribute where necessary to ensure the success of the demonstration, saying Kaduna’s position as the political capital of the North makes it important for the State to demonstrate its organizational capacity.

“We try as much as possible to take any assignment we are given seriously,” he said.

The lieutenant governor also called on women to play a greater role in mobilizing support for the president, urging campaign officials to take their message to communities rather than return home after the rally.

“Our job as women is to tell all women to be on our side,” she said, adding that the Renewed Hope agenda and the administration’s accomplishments should be presented to women at the grassroots.

She expressed confidence that women could achieve their mobilization goals if they remained focused and worked together.

Edu and the PCC delegation were in Kaduna ahead of a planned APC presidential campaign rally, where the mobilization team is trying to strengthen grassroots engagement, particularly among women.
