Nigeria vs Portugal: Durosinmi out, Iwobi, Akpan in, Chukwueze have an arrival date

Ahead of the Super Eagles’ friendly match against Portugal in Lisbon, the team has undergone a minor shake-up with the addition of two new players, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Nigeria has had a busy summer starting with the Unity Cup, where they defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 in the semi-final, before claiming a 3-0 victory over Jamaica in the final.

Yesterday they were forced to a 2-2 draw against Poland, and today they travel to Lisbon for a friendly against Portugal, who are heading to the World Cup, on June 10.

Before the match, Italian Pisa forward Rafiu Durosinmi, who had been with the team since the Unity Cup, was excused from the camp for personal reasons.

Alex Iwobi is back in the team after missing the game against Poland due to a red card in the last game. As we previously reported, Genk defender Christian Akpan is already in Lisbon with the team.

Meanwhile, Samuel Chukwueze, who recently concluded his mother’s funeral rites, is expected to join his teammates on Friday.
