Oyebanji dominated the polling stations at home while the APC swept the polling stations

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a landslide victory in the polling unit of gubernatorial candidate and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

The official results announced at Polling Unit 003, Ward 06, Okelele, Ikogosi Ekiti, showed the APC ahead with 326 votes, way ahead of all other parties contesting in the unit.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) received two votes, while the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and the African Action Congress (AAC) each received one vote. Three ballot papers were rejected and classified as void votes.

APC – 326

ADC – 2

ADP – 1

AAC – 1

Earlier in the day, Governor Oyebanji, who is seeking re-election on the APC platform, arrived at the polling station with his wife, Olayemi Oyebanji, and cast his vote at around 11:38 am.

While speaking to journalists shortly after the polls, the governor expressed optimism regarding his party’s performance across the state, stating that the APC would exceed its projected target of 500,000 votes.

He also praised the level of participation seen during the exercise and called on voters to demonstrate understanding of the technical challenges reportedly faced by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The governor maintained his confidence in the election process, assuring residents that the commission would resolve any operational issues and ensure that all eligible voters were given the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.
