The IMO Sports Commissioner targets gold medals at the Niger Delta Sports Festival

Commissioner for sport in the state of imo, Hon. Obinna Onyeocha has set its eyes on the collection of gold medals available for the IMO team at the next Niger Delta Sports Festival.

In an exclusive interview with SilverNews.com.ng, the Sports Commissioner declared the readiness of the IMO team, noting that the preparations were implemented to guarantee a successful trip.

“We have done everything we should do. Athletes are ready. We are camping about 400 athletes including the coaches. They have been on the field in the last three days to make sure that everything is implemented.

“We are good to leave and we want to appreciate the governor hopes that Uzodimma for his support. We thank the initiator and everyone.

“We are targeting all aspects of sport and we are not leaving sport back. We are targeting to get gold medals in all sports. The state of imo has dominated the elimination phases of the National Sports Festival of Enugu. Now we will do much better and we hope to reach gold medals up to 80%. I know with its grace, we are returning with many gold medals.”

About 3,000 athletes, 500 coaches and technical officials are scheduled to games that will present 17 events from 1 to 8 April.

The Festival is sponsored by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and supported by Premium Trust Bank. The NDSF will be officially reported by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday 2 April the Uyo Township stadium.
