Jos (Core reporter) The operation of the 3 -divisions/joint Task Force of the Nigerian army that lasts peace recently neutralized an armed militia in the area of ​​the local government of Barkin Ladi of the state of the plateau. On September 4, 2025, the troops arrested an armed militia with an AK-47 rifle and 11 strokes of 7.62 mm ammunition in Kaskra.

According to a declaration of the media information officer, the JTF Enduring Peace operation, Major Samson Zhakom, Saturday 6 September, the suspect militia confessed to having participated in several criminal activities and agreed to lead the troops to their hiding place to recover more weapons.

As a result, on September 5, 2025, the troops conducted a follow-up operation in the hiding place. However, the militia attempted to snatch the rifle of a soldier to escape, pushing the troops to neutralize them.

This operation is part of the current efforts by the Nigerian army to protect the state of the plateau and its surroundings from armed bandits and militias. The 3 Division/Jtf Opep has actively involved these threats through operations based on intelligence and commitment of the community.

Recall that in May 2025, the troops of the Division and the Safe Operation Haven neutralized three bandits and recovered four AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines and 56 strokes of 7.62 mm ammunition in qua’an Pan Lga.

In addition, on May 12, 2025, the troops killed two bandits and recovered weapons and ammunition, including an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine and seven 7.62 mm ammunition shots, during a raid on a suspicious hiding place in the mountain/forest of Teng.
