The Senate establishes an ad hoc committee of 19 members to supervise the emergency rule of rivers-thage

Tuesday the Senate inaugurated an ad hoc ad hoc committee of 19 members to supervise the provisional administration led by the deputy admiral IBOK-ETE EKWE IBAS (RTD.) Following the declaration of emergency rule in the state of spinners.

President Bola Tinubu had suspended the governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and the house of Shareholders’ Meeting State for an initial period of six months, appointing Iba as administrator to supervise business in the state.

The Committee, chaired by the leader of the Senate Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti Central) with the minority of the Senate Whip Rufai Hanga (Nnpp, Kano Central) as vice -president, has the task of monitoring the implementation of the federal directives, ensuring the legal completion by the provisional administration and the safeguard during this period.

The ad hoc committee will also focus on promoting the reconciliation efforts between the parties concerned in the state of the rivers to face the causes of the root of the unrest and facilitate the restoration of democratic governance in the state.

The members of the Committee include Ibrahim Lamido (APC, Sokoto East), Adamu Aliero (Pdp, Kebbi Central), or posita Izunaso (APC, IMO West), Osita Ngwu (PDP, Enugu West), Kaka Shehu Lawan (APC, Borno Central), Aminu Abba (APC, Lagos East), Adeniyi). ADGBONMIRE (APC, ONDO CENTAL) and SANI MUSA (APC, Niger East).

Other members are Simon Lalong (APC, Plateau South), Asuquo Ekpenyong (APC, Cross River South), Adams Oshiomhole (APC, Edo North), Ireti Kingbe (LP, FCT), Nwebonyi Onyekachi (Ebonyi North), ID Adbule (APC, Lagos West), Ede Dela (APC, Central) Mallam Madori (APC, Jigawa North-East).

A similar committee was previously established by the Chamber of Representatives, chaired by the leader of the majority Prof. Julius Ihonvbere.
