Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, said on Friday that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains in full control of its structure and support base ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bamidele stated this in Ado-Ekiti when he met with party stakeholders in Ekiti Central Senatorial District.
The Senate leader, who represents Ekiti Senatorial District, appealed to party members to remain resolute and committed.
He stressed the need for effective internal management.
According to him, APC members must be wary of disloyalty and alliances with opposition parties because such actions are tantamount to giving ammunition to the opposition to exploit in recruitment.
He said: “Internal dissatisfaction among members can create opportunities for opposition parties to make inroads. Opposition groups pay close attention to signs of division that can be exploited for recruitment.

“The opposition is a group of people who are still finding direction and stability, scattered and lacking a clear focus and direction.
“Opposition parties such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC), are relatively new political parties that are actively seeking to expand their membership base nationally,” Bamidele said.
He also said for the party’s upcoming primaries, all candidates will participate in the process, regardless of whether they emerge through consensus or direct primaries.
“The electoral framework in this country provides two ways of selecting candidates, namely consensus and direct primary elections. Even candidates who receive consensus support must undergo a formal affirmation process,” he concluded.
