Tinubu appoints Coker-Odusote as NIMC Acting DG

    The Latest report is that President Tinubu has officially appointed a new acting Director General [DG] of NIMC, Coker-Odusote. Coker Odusote served as Special Adviser on Technology to the then Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

    Coker Odusote also served in the United Kingdom and Nigeria with 15 years of experience across technology, real estate/construction, oil and gas, finance, media and advertising industries.

    A former Head, of IT and Communications, Coker Odusote also acted as the Chairperson of the APC National Database as Project Director.

    After serving under the Governor’s tenure, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was appointed Director-General of the Lagos State Infrastructural Maintenance and Regulatory Agency by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2021.

    Latest report reaching us today is that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially appointed her as Acting DG of NIMC. Here’s an official statement from the office of the President, confirming her appointment.

    President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote to serve as the Acting Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for a 90-day period, with effect from August 24, 2023, after which, a full term of four years will begin as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO, beginning on November 24, 2023.

    Everything has been set to place Engineer Coker-Odusote as the current DG of NIMC. She will officially replace Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, whom the President has directed to commence 90-day pre-retirement leave starting from the th of August, 2023. This pre-retirement leave will certainly lead to his eventual retirement from service on November 24th, 2023.

    President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub to serve as the Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC).

    This follows the recent expiration of tenure of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi.

    This appointment according to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Ajuri Ngelale takes immediate effect.

    The Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz has officially been directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to commence a compulsory 90-day pre-retirement leave effective from August 24, 2023.

    This information is coming directly from the Presidential aide, Ajiri Ngelale. Who further disclosed that the President has approved the appointment of Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General/CEO of NIMC during the 90-day period leave of Engr. Aliyu Abubakar. The compulsory leave approved by President Tinubu for Engineer Aliyu Abubakar Aziz will commence, starting from August 24, 2023, after which, a full term of four years will begin as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO, beginning on November 24, 2023.
