Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili hopes to be included Nigeria’s squad to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 27-year-old has caught the eye with his impressive displays for South African club Chippa United this season.
The shot stopper has kept six clean sheets in 12 league appearances and conceded just 10 goals.
Nwabili’s fine form has seen his stake climb and Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro is currently monitoring his progress at the club.
Peseiro was at Chippa United’s training ground on Friday where he met the former Enyimba goalkeeper.

Nwabili is determined to get on plane to Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
“I wish to get a call-up but it’s not compulsory. It’s not by my performance because everyone is doing well in different clubs, other goalkeepers have been doing well in their clubs,” he told iDiski Times.
“If you are called up to your national team, kudos to you but I wish to represent my own country. I wish to wear my country’s jersey. I wish to wear it again.
“I went there before and I wish to wear it again in a nice tournament. That’s my wish.”
Nwabili has made just one appearance for the Super Eagles.
